Gary Norman Dixon, age 63, passed away on Thursday, Sep. 18, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital following a sudden medical emergency.

Gary was born on Feb. 14, 1951 in Glens Falls, NY. He was the son of the late Norman K. Dixon, Mary Lou (Bussing) Dixon, and Ruth Alice (Liddle) Dixon.

On January 20, 1973, Gary married the love of his life, Maryanne Donbeck, in St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. They went on to nurture and provide a loving home; raised their two beautiful daughters; and spent 41 years together as husband and wife, and best-friends.

Gary was a graduate of Fort Edward High School in 1970. He worked as a machinist in the greater Glens Falls area, and most recently retired as Maintenance Supervisor for Saratoga Brewery in Saratoga Springs.

Gary and his wife enjoyed traveling. He also liked the great outdoors, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He spent many good times hunting with his family and friends.

More importantly, Gary loved being with his wife and family, and treasured time spent with his three grandchildren. He was their “PopPop”.

In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his in-laws, Anna and William Donbeck.

Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maryanne Dixon; his daughter, Amiee Hennigan, her husband, Matt, and their children Anna M., Colin A. and Catherine (Cate) Hennigan; his daughter, Stacey-Jo Clark, and her husband, Jeffery; his sister, Sharon LaFreniere and her children, Kevin and Keith Bennett; his brother, Bruce Dixon, his wife, Laurel, and their children Robert and Nathan Dixon; his sister, Wanda Kenley, her husband, Hank, and their children, Grace, Sarah, Emma, and Sean Kenley; and his sister, Dawn Wildermuth, and her children, Jaclynn and Kendra Capone; lifelong friends, Leonard and Therese Gillis, and their family; as well as many cousins and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sep. 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY, with Rev. Thomas E. Konopka, officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Hennigan, Jeffery Clark, Bruce, Robert, and Nathan Dixon, and Hank Kenley, as well as Honorary Pallbearer, Leonard Gillis.

Rite of Committal will be private.
