Obituary for Myrtle Lillian LaFoy (Bennett)
Argyle
Myrtle Lillian (Bennett) LaFoy, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 7, 2014 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care in North Creek.
Born on January 21, 1926 in Rupert, VT, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Moser) Bennett.
On August 23, 1941, she married Robert LaFoy. They spent 55 years together before his passing on December 4, 1996.
Myrtle worked on a farm owned by Fred & Molly Bennett along with her husband Bob. They lived on Long Island for a short time and moved back to Argyle for the remainder of their lives. She was the first female school bus driver employed at Argyle Central School and drove there for many years. Myrtle and her husband owned and operated canned milk routes, picking up cans of milk hauling them from the farmer to the dairy seven days a week 365 days a year for approximately six years. At this same time she worked at the General Electric in Fort Edward, and retired after 28 years. This woman knew what work was. She always loved and was dedicated to her husband and three children. Myrtle was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School for many years. All will miss her very much.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Davine Bell and husband David of Alabaster, Alabama, two sons, Gregory T. LaFoy and wife June of Pennsylvania, and Carter LaFoy and wife Mia Mia of Nevada, grandchildren, Jennifer Derryberry, Pamela Dorough (David), Paula Bell, and Peggy Bennett, great-grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Jashua Dorough, Daniel Dorough, Jonathan Dorough, Ciera Leann Bennett, and Kyle Ryan Bennett, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen McLean, pastor of Argyle Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
