Obituary for Robert Frank Dorvee
FORT EDWARD
Robert F. Dorvee, 77, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side.
Born August 29, 1937 in Fort Edward, NY, Robert was the son of the late Frank and Mary (DuFour) Dorvee.
Bob was a graduate of Fort Edward High School. Soon after graduating, he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for four years and received an honorable discharge. Soon after leaving the service, Bob worked at Scott Paper Co. in Fort Edward.
In 1960, Bob met Joyce, the love of his life. They were married in 1963 and spent a long, wonderful 51 years together.
Bob had many interests including traveling in and out of state to antique car shows. He loved antiques of all kinds. He was especially fond of his personal antique cars; a 1924 Ford, a 1928 Oldsmobile, and most of all, his 1957 Oldsmobile. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix just about anything. He was also a skilled carpenter.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Joyce Dorvee, and his sister, Jean Grant and her two children, Colleen and Cheryl. He will also be greatly missed by his two favorite German Shepherds, Asherah and Bumper.
