John “Jack” Donahue

John D. Donahue, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Born January 3, 1928 in Fort Edward, NY, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Ellen (Murphy) Donahue.

Jack graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1946 where he was the Salutatorian of his class. On May 5, 1956, he married the love of his life, Patricia LeBlanc at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward with Rev. Kenneth Doyle officiating.

Jack was a communicant of the North American Martyr’s Chapel, Society of Pius X.

While Jack was still in high school, he worked as a sports writer for The Post Star. He was employed at General Electric for 43 years. Jack was a charter member of the Adirondack Bagpipe Band, and was an avid walker.

In addition to his parents, Jack is predeceased by his sisters; Joan Waters and Ellen Donahue, and his brother Daniel Donahue.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Donahue, his children; Dennis Donahue and his wife Heidii, John Donahue and his wife Teri, James Donahue, Richard Donahue and his wife Sally, Joseph Donahue and his wife Antoinette, and Ellen Scelzi and her husband Michael, and Mary Willliams and her husband Jeffrey, as well as his grandchildren; Jeremiah Donahue, Mara Donahue, Patrick Donahue, Kevin Donahue, Candice Choppy, Daniel Donahue, Sean Donahue, Adeline Scelzi, and Jack Scelzi.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the North American Martyrs Chapel, 100 Boulevard, Hudson Falls, NY.

A gathering to celebrate Jack's life will be held at The Idle Hour Club in Fort Edward following the services.
