Obituary for Thomas J. "Tom" Linendoll

Thomas J. "Tom" Linendoll
But just think of stepping on shore-And finding it Heaven!
Of touching a hand-And finding it God's!
Of breathing new air-And finding it celestial!
Of waking up in glory-And finding it home!

Thomas J. "Tom" Linendoll, 61, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born May 5, 1953 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Edmond and Barbara (West) Linendoll.

Tom graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1972 where he played baseball, soccer, and football. He also attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, class of 1979. He was previously employed by Scott Paper Company and the Queensbury School District.

On November 10, 1973 Tom married the love of his life and soul-mate, Lorraine Paradis. Tom and Lorraine shared an incredibly close relationship and rarely did anything apart from each other. Tom and Lorraine served as youth leaders and influenced many with their love of the Lord. Tom was a longtime member of the Pine Knolls Alliance Church, where he was involved with his passion for prayer in prayer ministries.

He loved sports of all kinds, especially his baseball team, the Mets. Tom enjoyed umpiring high school girls' softball and fantasy league baseball. He also was Santa for hundreds of children for many years. Tom was always the class clown and kept his wonderful sense of humor throughout his life, including during his illness. Tom loved being around people and those he came in contact with experienced his humor, kindness, and humility.

Tom is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anna and Edmond Linendoll Sr., his maternal grandmother, Marion West, and his father-in-law, Romeo Paradis.

He will be sorely missed by his extended Paradis family including Mildred, David & Darcy, Steven & Diana, Connie, Evie & Dave, Chris & Melinda, and his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, along with his two cats, Madelyn and Callie.
