Stanley A. Knowlton, 70, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Born February 15, 1944 in Fort Edward, NY, he was the son of the late Curtis and Frances (Lavigne) Knowlton.

Stanley attended Argyle Central School and was employed as a truck driver and laborer for the Department of Public Works in the Village of South Glens Falls where he retired in 2002 after 35 years of service.

Stanley enjoyed playing Bingo, lock-up and dominos with his friends. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and could often be found cheering on Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmy Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by an infant brother and his brother Francis Knowlton, Sr., his sister Lucy Knowlton, and his nephews; Francis (Little Sonny) Knowlton Jr., William John Knowlton, and a nephew-in-law, James Demarsh.

Left to cherish his memory are his son James Knowlton, his sister Janice Walker and her husband Harold, his foster sister and brother AnnaMae Fiske and Dave Severence, his cousin Sheila Knowlton, his sister-in-law Beverly Knowlton, his friend Joan Burch, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his “grandcats” Shadow and KitterKat.

A spring graveside service will be conducted at 10am on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle.
