SOUTH GLENS FALLS
Benjamin (Ben) “Superman” Simpson, 32, of Dorrer Ave, South Glens Falls, passed away on Monday January 12, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, after a long, hard fight with an unknown disease.

Born on May 8, 1982, in Concord, Massachusetts, he was the son of Robert and Katheryn (Newton) Simpson, and the brother of Margaret Simpson.

On September 27, 2008, Benjamin married Jennifer (Jenny) Sharpe, the love of his life. They were joined in marriage by her uncle, Michael Charles Sharpe, who sadly passed away shortly after the wedding.

Ben was employed with AT&T mobility as a sales representative for six years where enjoyed working with the many friends, who remained close throughout his illness and disability.

Ben enjoyed many activities, such as martial arts; where his main style was isshunryu, and he excelled using his sword. Listening to music and attending concerts, especially with his nephew, Kyle. He was an avid reader, and loved hiking, nature, and adored wolves. He also enjoyed gaming with friends, C.J. “Vig”, who was there to support Ben emotionally throughout his illness, as well as, Keith and Ray, a special group that made many memories together. Ben was extremely close with his family and friends and especially enjoyed Sunday spaghetti dinners with the family. He spent his free time working on his computer and painting figurines in his area he created for him and his son. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his son, Christopher, as a member of the “Lucky Pillow Club”.

He was a member of Herschel Argyle Lodge #508, Free and Accepted Masons, where he was an active member. He had a great appreciation for the other members in the Masons Lodge.

Ben was predeceased by his grandmother, Yvonne, who he loved so dearly; as well as one of his best friends in life, Pfc. Nathan Brown.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Jennifer Simpson; his son, Christopher Sharpe; his mother and father in-laws, Toni and George Sharpe; his brother-in-law, Joe Sharpe, and his significant other, Shannon, and their family; his sister-in-law, Deanna Sharpe, and her family; his brother-in-law, Angelo Sharpe, and his wife, Leigh Sharpe, and their family; his 18 nieces and nephews, who he adored and kept entertained at all of the Sunday dinners together; his best friend, Robert Havens, and his mother, Joan, who was like a mom to him; the Nasr brothers, Joe, EJ and Zach; his lifelong friends from work, especially, Jesse, Shawn, Dave; his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and mother in law; Catherine Columbetti, his “Grammy”, who he adored so very much; his Simpson and Newton families, his grandmother, Beth Sutphen, and great aunt, Gandy.

We will miss you Ben, our Superman, Ben jammin’; you were an inspiration to all around you and even to many who did not know you. Ben’s walls in his room at the Pines were filled with greeting cards and pictures from countless people, schools, doctor’s offices, old friends, and post star readers who had heard of his story. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for being the light in the darkness of this horrible disease that took Ben. We will miss that vibrant spirit, the love he showed, his humor, and especially his beautiful blue eyes. May you RIP.
