Obituary for Robert N. Phillips

Robert N. Phillips
FORT EDWARD
Robert N. Phillips, 67, of McIntyre Street, passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 1, 1947 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Ernest F. and Margaret Mary Phillips.

Robert attended Queensbury School. He married Mary A. Phillips on July 11, 1968, and they were married for 46 years.

He was employed with The Village of Fort Edward DPW for over 33 years, and he loved his job.

Robert was a hard worker, who enjoyed keeping his lawn looking like a golf course, swinging in his hammock in the back yard, and tending to his tomato garden. He enjoyed going out to dinner, especially massie's and the harvest and loved the time he spent with his “fur babies”, Salem and Butchie Stewart. He was an avid coin collector, who loved playing horseshoes. His most favorite times were time spent with family, having cookouts in his son and daughter in-laws’ back yard.

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his three brothers, Ernest Phillips Jr, Charles Phillips, and Earl Phillips; as well as two sisters, Sylvia St. John, and Priscilla Passino.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary A. Phillips; his son Robert Phillips Jr. and his wife, Jill, of South Glens Falls; His two grandchildren, Maryanne Phillips, and her significant other, Mike Carrera, and Mason Blanck; as well as his soon to be born, great grandson, Andrew Mason; his three brothers, Edward Phillips, of Fort Edward, Dennis Phillips, of Hudson Falls and Joe Phillips, of Hudson Falls; his four sisters, Margaret Rawlins, of Queensbury, Betty Coda, of Vermont, Patricia Reed, of Queensbury, and Ernesta Phillips, of Hudson Falls, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
