Doris Jean (Forsberg) Fethke Tarzia, 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2015 at The Pines in Glens Falls surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Minneapolis, MN on February 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Gertrude (Higgins) Forsberg.

She graduated from Bloomington High School in Minnesota.

On September 5, 1936, she married Walter Fethke in Minnesota, they spent 39 years together before his passing.

Doris was employed by Edwin Gould Foundation in Spring Valley, NY. She wrote a column for the Rockland Journal for many years.

She enjoyed acting and singing on stage and at Senior Living Homes for the residents, and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts.

Doris was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and was very involved in her church, Congers Methodist Church.

Besides her parents and first husband, Doris is predeceased by her second husband, Vito Tarzia, brothers, William Forsberg and Rev. Paul Forsberg.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Walter Fethke Jr. and wife Monique of Moreau, Douglas Fethke and wife Geraldine of Frazier Park, CA, Elaine Harloe and husband Robert of Naples, FL, Charles Fethke and wife Helen of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren, Dr. Eric Fethke and wife Dr. Viyada, Karen Ranck and husband Donald, Kristen Fethke, Kurt Fethke, Kyle Fethke and wife Lotta, Jennifer Doohan and husband Kevin, Aaron Fethke and wife Ruth, Joshua Fethke, Alicia Fethke, and Victoria Fethke, eleven great grandchildren, one brother, David Forsberg and wife Claire, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will follow calling hours with Rev. Janet Vincent, pastor of Bacon Hill Reformed Church, officiating.

Burial will follow service at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Miller.
