Obituary for Richard Jeffrey "Road Kill" Owen

Richard Jeffrey "Road Kill" Owen
Albany

Richard Jeffery “Road Kill” Owen, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

Born March 9, 1950 in White Plains, New York he was the son of the late Richard W. and Grace C. (McKinstry) Owen.

He is survived by his loving mother, Grace C. McKinstry; his beloved son, Alan and Alan’s mother Roslyn; Brother, Bruce Owen (AnnMarie); sisters, Carol Briaotta, Nancy Owen, Diane Moore and Suzanne (Brian) Grady; along with his loving brothers and sisters of the Leathernecks MC Revolution Chapter.

Richard proudly served his country with distinction as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War.

He was an avid bow hunter, a keen fisherman and devoted father with a deep love and respect for Mother Nature and all her glory.

Despite his gruff exterior and his club name “Roadkill”, he had a heart of gold and was well known for his random acts of kindness. His tireless charitable works alongside his brothers and sisters of the Leathernecks MC were the true measures of his life.

Road Kill loved to dance, had a wicked sense of humor, a crooked pirates smile and an unforgettable laugh! He fiercely protected all that he loved and he lived by the golden rule! He will be missed by all. There’s a hole in the world tonight!

A celebration of Richards’s life will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:30am at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803 with Rev. Peter Keenan officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
