James Fred Hilton, 81, of County Rt. 46 passed away at home on August 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 6, 1934 in Fort Edward NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Lulu (Parent) Hilton.

On May 27, 1978 he married the love of his life, Waltraud Ott, at the First United Methodist Church, Warrensburg and they spent 37 happy years together.

James was employed for over 50 years with J. E. Sawyers and Co. in Glens Falls, primarily in the steel department.

He was a former communicant of Fort Miller Reformed Church, Fort Miller and was a member of the Deer Valley Club in Indian lake.

James enjoyed activities such as photography, flower gardening, camping and spending time outdoors. His favorite activity was the Second Continental reenactments, which he was a part of for 45 plus years.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by brother, Jacques Royallminns and his wife, Renee; his infant daughter; his son, Gregory Martin Hilton; and his step daughter, Heidi Burch.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Waltraud Hilton; his son, Philip Hilton, of Ballston Spa; daughter, Patricia Tripp and her husband, Walter, of Clarendon, VT; daughter, Teresa Parrish and her husband, Dana, of Argyle; son, Tracey James Hilton and his wife, Sandra, of Dallas, TX; step son, Harry Burch, of North Umberland; step son, Eric Burch, of Queensbury; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; as well as several cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6pm following calling hours at the funeral home, with Mark Sheffer, of the Fort Miller Reformed Church, officiating.
