Lyle A. Purinton, 66, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 on his beloved farm.

Born November 1, 1948, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Roberta “Shine” Purinton.

Lyle graduated from Schuylerville Central School in 1966 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1970. He was a lifelong member of the FFA.

Lyle owned and operated a Century Farm in Gansevoort and was a lifelong, and dedicated dairy farmer.
He had a passion for photography, and especially enjoyed landscapes. He was known for his sharp sense of humor and could talk to anyone for hours, most often about the weather.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Nancy (Keys) Purinton, daughter; Stephanie Sheldon-Puriton and her wife Jennifer, grandchildren; Harper and Ryder Sheldon-Purinton, brother Edward Purinton and his wife Ruth, cousins; Arlene Ruhle, Janice Washburn and her husband Cy, Robert Whyland, Joanne Collins and her husband Ted, Linda Whyland, and Kathy Vandercar, as well as his beloved dog Zoe.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Janet Vincent, Pastor of the Bacon Hill Reformed Church officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
