Obituary for Robert J "Bob" Chapman

Robert “Bob” J. Chapman, 77, of County Rt. 30, passed away on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on July 28, 1938, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late, John and Dorothy (Cooling) Chapman.
Bob attended High School in Glens Falls, graduating in the class of 1957.
As a child Bob worked on his father’s farm until 1958, he worked as a logger until 1986, before starting his own company, Chapman Industries.
In 1964 Bob married the love of his life, Cathy Barber, in Granville, NY, and they spent 51 happy years together.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his wife and they did everything together. He also enjoyed the time he spent with the Foothills ATV Club, riding and maintaining the trail systems. He was a farmer’s best friend, fixing anything that needed his expertise. He loved helping and being around people and had many friends.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by three children.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cathy (Barber) Chapman; his sister, Beverly Harmon and her husband, Dan, of NYC; his close friend and neighbor, Matthew Mercure; his close friend, Timmy Lloyd; his special nephew, Keith Whitney; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Turning Point Wesleyan Church, 1063 State Rt. 4 Fort Edward , NY 12828, with Pastor, James Swanson, officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
