Evelyn June (Tripp) Layhee, 82, of Meadowlark Dr. passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Saratoga Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1933, in Hartford, NY, she was the daughter of the late Neil D. and Edith (Durkee) Tripp.
Evelyn attended Argyle Central School and graduated with the class of 1951.
Evelyn grew up as a communicant of the Argyle United Methodist Church with her family.
She was a lifetime employee of G.E. in Hudson Falls, where she started working right out of high school. After retirement she continued to work for G.E. part time.
Evelyn enjoyed many activities, such as knitting, baking, cooking and reading. She was an avid gardener, loved puzzles and spent time in bowling leagues. She had a special love for children and she was like a second mother to many family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Wallace Layhee; her brothers, Richard Tripp and Bill Tripp; her sister Betty LaMere and her husband Ken; and her brother in law, Melvin Tefft.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Charlotte Tefft, Janis Millington and her husband George, Marie Henry and her husband, Jack; her sister in law, Eleanor Tripp; and many nieces, nephew and extended family members.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at the funeral home following calling hours at 1p.m. with the Rev. Deb Peacock, pastor of the Argyle United Methodist Church, officiating.
