Eugene A. Hughto, 85, of South Glens Falls passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 29, 2016 of natural causes.

He was born in Brownville, NY on September 22, 1930 to the late, Warren and Cora (Lancombe) Hughto and was raised in Gouverneur, NY.

Eugene retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service.

He was employed with Chase bag Co. for twenty years

Eugene enjoyed cooking, traveling and doing things for his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed being around his family and friends as they enjoyed being around him.

In addition to his parents, Eugene is predeceased by his sons, Charles and John Hughto; as well as five sisters and three brothers.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Marion (Jarvis) Hughto; his son, Eugene Hughto and his wife, Alesa; his stepchildren, Kathleen Hill and her husband, John, Sandra Sullivan and her husband, Michael and Gary Jarvis; Joanne (Smith) Hughto; his brother in law, Harold Fuller; his sisters in law, Jane Wahl and Amelia Fuller; his grandchildren, Joe Hughto and his wife, Coral, Katie Brown and her husband, Aaron, Alana Barone and her husband, John, Mike Sullivan, Matt Sullivan and his wife, Shani; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

At Eugene’s request there will be no calling hours.

The Family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Memorial donations in Eugene’s name can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
