Marjorie (Stout) Marotta, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the River Ridge Living Center.

Born in Saskatchewan, Canada on November 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Ethel (Jolly) Stout.

She was a graduate of Argyle High School class of 1940, then moved to Amsterdam when she married in 1943.

She enjoyed sewing garments for her family and many friends. Most of all, Marjorie enjoyed children and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie is predeceased by her daughter, Suzanne Marotta, four brothers, and three sisters and ex husband, Michael Marotta.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Sharron Mutzel and husband Terry of East Rochester, Michele Marotta of Johnstown, Michael Marotta and wife Gail of Amsterdam, John Scott Marotta of Ft. Mill, SC, Stephan Marotta of Wilmington, SC, David Guyette of Amsterdam, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Lola Roods, Sybil Ketchum, and Jewel Coats, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per Marjorie’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 10am on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Argyle United Methodist Church, 11 Sheridan St, Argyle, NY 12809 with Rev. Deb Peacock, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Argyle United Methodist Church, 11 Sheridan St, Argyle, NY 12809 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
