Stephan M. Hazelton, 56, went into the arms of the Lord on Monday May 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Born on April 16, 1960 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late, Sherrill and Rose (Valastro) Hazelton.

Steve graduated from South Glens Falls High School and went on to graduate from the NYS Academy of Corrections. He was a Corrections Officer for more than 15 years.

In 1996, Steve married Bonnie Oliver and they spent 20 happy years together.

He enjoyed working in his garage, golfing and riding his motorcycle. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially hosting family reunions and get togethers.

In addition to his parents, Steve is predeceased by his brother and sister in law, Edward and Faith Hazelton; as well as his best friend, Paul Shultz.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son, Derek Hazelton; his daughter, Ashley Hazelton; Steve had three step children that he loved as much as his own, Sabrina Little and her husband, Jason, Jason Washburn and his wife, Abby and William Washburn and his wife, Sarah; Steve loved his five grandchildren, Alex, Erin, Jacob, Keenan and Chelsea; he adored his siblings, Sharon Rushe and her husband, Larry, Sherrill Hazelton and his wife, Cindy, Debbie Healy and her husband, Ed, Vicki Bauman and her husband, Jeff, Mary Price and her friend, Dave, Marcia Paterson and her husband, Joe; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main St. So. Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Thursday May 12, 2016 at the funeral home.

Burial will be held following a funeral service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, So. Glens Falls.

Memorial donations in Steve’s memory can be made to the South Glens Falls Marathon Dance, 6 Bluebird Rd. So. Glens Falls, NY 12803.

The family wishes to make a special thank you to Steve’s overnight caregiver and friend, Dave Pronto.
