Obituary for Cathleen Elizabeth Humiston

Fort Miller

Cathleen Humiston, 98, passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Greenwich on August 21, 1917 she was the daughter of the late George and Fannie (Monroe) Rice.

She graduated from Schuylerville High School.

On June 8, 1941 she married the love of her life Ralph H. Humiston.

Cathleen was an employee of General Electric in Fort Edward.

She was a member of the Fort Miller Reformed Church and was a Sunday school teacher for over 60 years.

Cathleen enjoyed animals, camping, children, studying genealogy and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Cathleen was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. Humiston; son, David R. Humiston; and brother, Harold Rice.

Left to cherish her memory includes her sisters, Josephine Middleton and Dorothy Lacko;sister-in-law, Louise Rice; daughter-in-law, Susan Humiston; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11am at the Fort Miller Reformed Church 1239 Fort Miller Road Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. Richard Hoffman officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, North River Road, Fort Edward, NY.

Memorial donations in Cathleen’s memory may be made out to Fort Miller Reformed Church, Sunday school, 1239 Fort Miller Road, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
