Anthony “Tony” Marcantonio, Sr., passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his family at his side.

Tony was born in Glens Falls, NY on October 1, 1947, and graduated from the Queensbury High School in 1965.

Following high school graduation Tony served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.

On March 31, 1968, Tony married the love of his life, Gerrie Moses, in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Hudson Falls, and they went on to spend 48 loving years together raising their family of children and making a home for themselves.

Tony was employed by Niagara Mohawk as a utilities mechanic for over 35 years before his retirement from the company.

Tony loved his circle of family and close friends, as well as the great outdoors. He was a fisherman, archery instructor, hunter, and avid outdoors sports and NASCAR fan. Among many activities, he was a longtime member of the NRA; a Boy Scout leader; as well as a supporter of the SGF High School Marathon Dance.

Tony was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela Marcantonio, as well as his mother and father-in-law’s, “Bud” and Joyce Moses.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gerrie Marcantonio; his children: Tony Marcantonio, Jr., Michael Marcantonio, and Marie Bidwell, and her husband, Bryan; his grandchildren, Alexis Marcantonio, Nicholas Bombardier, and Ashley Burch; his parents, Alfred and Marilyn Marcantonio; his brother, Jeffrey Marcantonio, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call on the family, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 between 4 and 7 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Tony’s name may be made to Veteran’s Memorial Post 2475, 30 Cooper Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801, with donations being dedicated to the Flag Fund.
