Eleanor L. (Sharpe) Dalaba, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born May 5, 1925 in Fort Edward, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Graham) Sharpe.

Eleanor graduated from Argyle Central School, Class of 1942. She was employed at McIntyre Jewelers in Argyle for many years.

Eleanor married Richard Dalaba in 1943 and they raised their family together in Argyle until his death in 2009.

She was a long time member of the Argyle United Methodist Church and also a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Eleanor was a wonderful homemaker who excelled at baking and working in her garden. She loved to spend time with her family at many get-togethers, holidays and reunions. She also loved to travel to Florida with her husband, brother, and sisters.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Eleanor was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Finn in 2009, as well as her brothers; Raymond and Malcolm Sharpe, her sisters; Elaine McIntyre and Alice Gillis, and her nieces; Nancy Friday and Linda Cuthbert.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandson Jason Finn and his wife Suzanne of Gansevoort, her brother Robert Sharpe, her nieces; Betty Bain and her husband Roscoe, Darlene Murphy and her husband Michael, Barbara Hughes and her husband Michael, Beth Gillis, Sandy Sharpe, and Peggy Baille, as well as her nephews; Carl Gillis, Steve Gillis, Ronald Sharpe, and Michael Sharpe.

Friends may call from 1-4pm on August 4, 2016 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Argyle United Methodist Church with Rev. Deb Peacock officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle.

Memorial donations in Eleanor’s name can be made to the Argyle United Methodist Church, Sheridan 5184 State Route 40, Argyle, NY 12809, or to the Argyle Emergency Squad, 15 Sheridan Street, Argyle, NY 12809.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amy Hogan-Moulton and the staff of the Renal Center at Glens Falls Hospital, as well as Dr. Miles and the staff of Tower 6 for their care and compassion during Eleanor’s illness.
