Obituary for Harriet L. Gorrie

Waterford, CT - Harriet L. Gorrie, 80, of Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill and formerly of Glens Falls, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, New London.

She was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Queensbury, N.Y., the daughter of Curtis and Iva (Bennett) Harrington.

Harriet is survived by her children, Annie Gorrie and her partner, Al Bardin, David Gorrie and his wife, Carolyn, Debbie Gorrie and her husband, Mike Seabury, Theresa Rhyther and her husband, Gary, Peter Gorrie and his wife, Mary, Amber Imotichey and her husband, Brian and Mary Weseman and her husband, Bill, with whom Harriet resided. Her brothers, William and David Harrington; a sister, Carol Head; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her ex-husband, William T. Gorrie; a son, William C. Gorrie; and a brother, Curtis Harrington.

Harriet was an amazing mom of her eight children and so many others that she "adopted". She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. She was an active member of the Friends of Bill W. for 32 years. Her favorite saying was "I loved our beautiful fellowship". She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her. If you knew her, you knew she loved you.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375. A reception will follow at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 12 Dunbar Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.

Local Friends and family may call from 10am to 11 am on Monday, August 8, 2016, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls, NY 12803,

Memorial Services will be conducted following calling hours on Monday at the funeral home.
