Ezekiel Jerome “Jay” Hunt, 53, of East LaClaire St. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 6, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his love, Christine by his side.

Born on February 12,1963 in Freeport Long Island, NY he was the son of, Rosa (Ray) Hunt and the late, Ezekiel Hunt.

Jerome attended Freeport High School in Long Island, NY before serving his country in the U.S. Army and then being Honorably Discharged in 1982.

Jay was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Glens Falls, where he proudly served as an usher.

Jay was a very proud business owner of EZ Jay’s Landscaping where he worked tirelessly day and night to serve his customers. There wasn’t a day that went by that his bright yellow shirt wasn’t seen somewhere. To this day he never lost his childhood fascination with wrestling and he never missed Monday Night Raw.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Queensbury, No. 121, F& A.M. and was proud to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Most importantly his greatest joy was his granddaughter, Aryana who she named “Poppy”. She could do no wrong in his eyes.

In addition to his father, Jay is predeceased by his cousin, Moses Hunt; his father and mother in law, Merwyn and Linda Cuthbert; as well as several grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jay is survived by his beloved fiancée, Christine Cuthbert, of Hudson Falls, who he affectionately referred to as his “Betty Boop”; his mother, Rosa (Ray) Hunt, of Hempstead, NY; his son, Jerome Hunt, of Albany, NY; his brothers, Steven Hunt, of Hempstead, NY and Kenneth Hunt, of East Rockaway, NY; his sister, Felicia Hunt, of Freeport, NY; his stepdaughters, Cassandra Keech and Courtney Keech, both of Hudson Falls; his pride and joy, granddaughter, Aryana Woods; as well as several sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends from here to Long Island.

Local Family and Friends are invited to call from 4-6 pm on Friday November 11, 2016 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828. There will also be calling hours from 5 to 7 pm Sunday November 13, 2016 at the John N. Moore Funeral Home, 150 Nassau Rd, Roosevelt, NY 11575.

Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of Jay’s life at 7pm on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at the Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. 15 Nelson St, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Jerome had a rare blood disease called TTP. The family asks memorial donations in his name be made to The American Heart Association Northeastern Region, 440 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205.

In Jerome’s memory do something nice for someone, put a smile on someone’s face or tell a joke to have a laugh because that’s what he did for all of us.

Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I’ll remember you all, if you can only remember me with tears then don’t remember me at all.
