Betty J. Ogden, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 17, 1938 in Fort Edward she was the daughter of the late John and Cathryn (Pendergrass) McDougall.

She graduated from Argyle Central School class of 1956.

On Mother’s Day, May 10, 1959 she married the love of her life Malcolm L. Ogden Sr. at the Argyle Presbyterian Church.

Betty was employed by Hannaford and Stewarts and retired from Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Shushan United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Cambridge and Fort Edward chapters and former member of Village Baptist Church in Fort Edward.

Betty enjoyed watching Syracuse Basketball, scratch off tickets, golfing, bowling, her furry friends Callie and Stripes, and spending time with her family and special friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her son, Matthew John Ogden; sister, Judith Cohen; brother-in-law, Saul (Bud) Cohen; Sister-in-law, Shirley McDougall; nephews, Eddie Cohen, Gary Cohen and Jay McDougall.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Malcolm L. Ogden Sr. of Fort Edward; daughters, Elizabeth Burkhardt (Frank) of Fort Edward, Martha Normandin (Mike) of Fort Edward , Janet Morris (Jeff) of South Glens Falls, Patricia Dorey (Scott) of Gansevoort, Rebecca Brockway (Mike) of Fort Edward; her son, Malcolm L. Ogden Jr. of Fort Edward; her twin sister; Barbara Dixon (Bill) of Argyle; her brother, Jim McDougall of Argyle; sister-in-law, Agnes Shaw (Bernard) of Gansevoort; grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Moriah, Jake, Jennifer, Jarrett, Nicole, Zachary, Erica, Emily, Cody, Sophia, Seneca, Danielle and Tomi Jo; along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4p.m.-7p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 and 12-2 on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

On Saturday January 14, 2017 an Eastern Star service will be held at 2p.m. followed by a funeral service at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. Ray Waters and Carol Finke officiating.

Burial will take place at 11am on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Union Cemetery.
