Thomas Patrick Cummings, 65, of Feeder Dam Rd. passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife who never left his side during his battle with glioblastoma.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 26, 1951, he was the son of Evelyn Caroline (Nystrom) Osborn and the late, Patrick Joseph Cummings.

Tom attended Curtis High School in NYC, before enrolling at New Paltz College.

On August 4, 2012, he married the love of his life, JoAnn M. (Fitzgerald) Nolan at St. Mary’s / St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating. Tom and JoAnn loved to travel, especially trips to Ireland, Mexico, Quebec City and many other places.

Tom was employed with Washington Correctional Facility in Comstock, NY as a Correction’s Lieutenant until his retirement in 2013. Throughout his years in corrections he was well loved and respected by his co-workers and made many long lasting friendships.

He was a member of the American Legion Mohawk Post #553 in So. Glens Falls, the Eagles Club AERIE # 2486 and was an Eagle Scout. He also had a passion for politics and was an Alderman.

Tom was dedicated to helping others. He volunteered at the House of Grace and delivered food for the Meals On Wheels program through the Moreau Community Center. He enjoyed bird watching, feeding birds and spending time with his bird, Konni and cat, Yuri. He enjoyed watching the Mets and White Sox, watching the Kentucky Derby and going to the track in Saratoga. He was a season ticket holder at the Glens Falls Civic Center and enjoyed going to hockey games with his son. He was a trivia buff and loved taking JoAnn to Trivia night on Wednesdays. Most of all his family and friends were the most important things in his life.

In addition to his father, Tom is predeceased by his late wife, Alma; his brother Timothy Cummings and his brother in law, Ernie Hromada.

Left to cherish his memory including his mother are his wife, JoAnn (Fitzgerald) Nolan Cummings; his children, Anita Musser and her husband, Kurt of, Stevensville, MD, Sean Cummings and his wife, Stefanie of, Centerville, MD and their mother, Janet Linda of, Easton, MD; his children, Michele Holcomb and her significant other, Carl Hermanson of, Hudson Falls, Ashley N. Lotich and her husband, Keith of, Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Eliana and Sabrina Musser, of Stevensville, MD and Skylar and Harley Holcomb of, Hudson Falls; his brothers, Kevin Cummings and his wife, Loraine, of Dillsburg, PA, Robert Cummings and his wife, Lisa of, Staten Island and Michael Cummings, of West VA; his sister, Nancy Hromada, of Bunker Hill, West VA; his sister in law, Sheila Red, of Denver, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call 4-6 pm on Monday, February 6, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St. So. Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Michael’s the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave, So. Glens Falls, NY, with the Celebrant Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor and Concelebrant Rev. Barry Lonergan.

Rite of Committal will be e conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Edward.
