Obituary for John Anthony Stipano

John Anthony Stipano, 81, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on June 24, 1935 in Schenectady, NY he was the son of the late Louis and Margaret (Huszar) Stipano.

John attended St. Joseph’s Academy in Schenectady, throughout elementary school and later graduated from Draper High School in Schenectady.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force between 1955 to 1960 where he was a drill instructor.

Upon returning home, John worked at General Electric in Schenectady for 33 years as a plumber and steamfitter until his retirement.

On April 30, 1961, John married the love of his life, Carolyn Cutler at the St. Madeleine Sophie church in Schenectady, NY.

John enjoyed collecting old coins and antique cars.

In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his sisters, Louise (Stipano) Benardo (Pat) and Theresa (Stipano) Welch (John); and his brother-in-law, Bob MacLea.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carolyn Stipano, his children; Chris Stipano Sr., Mark Stipano (Lisa), Joel Stipano (Kumiko), Jeremy Stipano and Adam Stipano (Rachel), his grandchildren; Chris Stipano Jr., BrandiAnne Doe (Jason), Zach Stipano, Gabriella and Sophia Stipano, and Clay and Ron Bailey, his great grandchildren; Dominick Stipano, Skyler and Dessalyn Doe, his sister; Nancy MacLea, and his special friends and neighbors; Betty and John Orner, Julie and John Couball, Ernie Morvay, Rhonda Demarsh, Carolyn Cutler, Chris Diehl, Amy Godfrey and Lisa Williamson, and also many nieces and nephews and his loyal companions “Misa” and “Bud”.

We wish to extend many thanks to Dr. Michael Fuller and the staff at Kingsbury Hudson Headwaters, to Dr. Eric Pillemer and “all” the staff at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, to Dr. Michael Layden and the great staff at Adirondack Cardiology, to Dr. Amjad Hammad and his caring staff, to Rite Aid Pharmacy on Main St. in Hudson Falls, NY, for all their wonderful support over the years, most especially we want to thank ‘Jen McGuoir’ and the nursing staff on Tower 3 at Glens Falls Hospital who lovingly cared for him on his journey home.

Friends may call from 12 to 3pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A funeral service will follow calling hours at 3pm at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.
