Vivian Urawicz, 102, passed away Sunday February 26, 2017 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born March 10, 1914 in South Glens Falls she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Nolan) Hayes.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls.

Vivian was a founding member of St. Michaels Church in South Glens Falls and former president of the Rosary Altar Society.

On November 30, 1935 Vivian married the love of her life Michael J. Urawicz at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

She was the former Owner of Taylor Welding Supply and the former manager of the Glens Falls Hospital Gift Shop.

In addition to her parents, Vivian is predeceased by her husband Michael Urawicz; brothers, Kenneth Hayes Sr. (Roberta) and Loren Hayes; nephew, Kenneth Hayes Jr.

Left to cherish her memory include her nephews and nieces, William Hayes (Susan), John Hayes, Donna McShane, Debra Boyle (Patrick), and Michael Hayes (Kathy); good friends, Bernie and Marianne Charlebois; family friends, Sister Donna and Sister Anne SSND; along with several grand nieces, grand nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 10-11a.m. on Friday March 3, 2017 at St. Michaels Church 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A funeral mass will be conducted following the calling hours at 11a.m. at the church with Rev. Guy A. Childs officiating.

Rite of committal will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Vivian’s memory may be made to St. Michael’s Bereavement Committee 80 Saratoga Ave. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

The family would like to thank the staff of B wing & G wing at Fort Hudson Nursing Home for their tremendous care.
