Webster L. Chapman I, 75, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Web was born on July 16, 1941 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Merton and Muriel (McKernon) Chapman.

Web graduated from Hartford Central School class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Hudson Falls American Legion. During his active duty, he was a member of the color guard and the Old Guard, the Army’s official ceremonial unit. He marched in the Presidential escort of the inaugural parade held in honor of President Lyndon B. Johnson. He retired from General Electric Co.in Hudson Falls and Fort Edward after 38 years of service. Web enjoyed fishing and hunting and hunting was his passion of for many years, with his sons, and grandsons and many friends. He tagged his last buck this past fall. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, coaching little league for many years for his sons, and then his grandsons, and weekend parties at the family camp in Rupert VT.

Web married Margery “Theresa” Curtis on March 6, 1965, she passed away on Nov. 6, 2006.

Besides his parents and wife Web was also predeceased by his son Webster II.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Michelle Moore and husband Mark, and Robin Chapman; his son, Mark Chapman and his wife Stacy; his grandchildren, Travis Cass, Alexandria Baldwin, Cameron, Andrew and Carly Sipowicz, Ashleigh, Morgan and Mason Chapman; his great-grandsons, Noah and Cameron Jr.; his sister, Loanne Bain and husband Dave; his aunts, Beverly Crosier and Goldie Chapman, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his longtime close friend since high school, Bill Connors and his cat Tootsie.

At Web’s request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services with military honors, will be conducted at 10:00am on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Morningside Cemetery, Hartford. Following the services at the cemetery, there will be a reception at the Hudson Falls American, 72 Pearl Street, Hudson Falls, NY.
