SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Genevieve (Jenny) Amanda Preda, 93, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Pines Nursing Home.

Jenny was born in Albany, NY on April 15, 1924 to the late Thomas and Sophie (Amando) Moscinski. They came to America from Poland and had no relatives here.

She went to School 21, then to Albany High School. She graduated from Albany High School and worked at the State Tax Department, in the State Office Building.

Jenny was a member of the AWVS (American Women’s Volunteer Service) and did volunteer work at the Veterans Hospital for many years, which meant a lot to her.

After her marriage at St. Patrick’s Church to Eugene, she moved to South Glens Falls, with her husband, step daughter Joan, and father-in-law John.

She belonged to St. Michael’s Church and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Moreau Community Center. She volunteered for years at St. Michael’s bingo.

Eugene and Jenny cared for 48 foster children and stayed in touch with many of them.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene; her stepdaughter, Joan Jordan; her twin sister, Veronica Lupe; sister, Agnes Hadsell; brothers, Stanley, Marvin, Michael, Julian, Thomas, and Joseph Moscinski.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Dr. Frank Preda and his wife, Kathleen Kalwa of Ballston Lake; her sister, Mrs. Frances Gervaise of Schenectady; her brother, Frank Moscinski of Albany; her step grandchildren, Edward Jordan and his wife of Kentucky, Christine Marotta and her husband of Glenville; her sister-in-law, Connie Mason; and many nieces, nephews and close friends including Darlene Thompson, Ramona Clements, Bonnie Yanklowitz, Jeannie Guthiel, Kay Donohue, and Ann Reis.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave. South Glens Falls, NY 12803, with the Rev. Guy Anthony Childs, pastor, officiating.

Rite of Committal will follow the funeral mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls.

Memorial donations can be made in Jenny’s name to the St. Michael the Archangel Church c/o Altar Rosary Society, 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, NY 12803 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
