Ethel Clara Morris, 99, passed away on July 17, 2017 at the Home of the Good Shepherd surrounded by her family.

Born in Glens Falls on June 27, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Roy S. and Maude L. (Lashway) Clements.

Ethel worked in the cafeteria at Jackson Heights School, then moved to the junior high where she retired after 15 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. She loved flower and vegetable gardening.

Ethel married Raymond G. Morris at the First Baptist Church, Glens Falls on May 16, 1942 with the Rev. Gordon Poole officiating. They spent 61 years together until his passing in 2003.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel is predeceased by her six brothers, Raymond, Harold, Ray Jr., Robert, Donald, and Loren Clements; and four sisters, Marion Clements, Betty C. Crowe, Irene Rowell, and Ruth Wood.

Left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Robert Morris and his wife, Dianne of Longwood Fl., Raymond Morris and his wife, Helen of South Glens Falls; her two daughters, Joan E. Phelps of Queensbury, and Jean M. Comstock and her husband, Fred of Johnsburg; 14 grandchildren; her sister, Marjorie A. Walker of Glens Falls, and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Ethel’s request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury.

Memorial donations can be made in Ethel’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
