William E. “Bill” Stevens, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

Born on May 14, 1931 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Arthur and Marguerite (Chagnon) Stevens.

Bill was a 1950 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and then Utica Tech. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Sea Bees. On July 8, 1956 he married Marilyn Dietze at St. Mary's Church of Hudson Falls. He retired from Albany International. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, sports, boating, and spending time with his family.

Beside his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Ronald and infant granddaughter, Katelyn.

Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of 61 years, include his children, Crystal Gillis (Gary) of Fort Edward, Linda LaRock, Michele Sherwood (Ed) and Denise Stevens all of Argyle, 7 grandchildren, Amy Gillis, Jeremy Gillis, Sandra Forfa, Rachel Wallace, Bradley Sherwood, Christina Secor and Edward Sherwood III; his 5 great grandchildren, his brother, Paul Stevens (Lois); 2 sister-in-laws Jona Trackey (Earl) of Hudson Falls, Betty Wolcott of Casleton, Vt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Bill's request there will be no calling hours.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Donations may be made in Bill's memory to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
