Obituary for Charles Hanna

Charles A. Hanna, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Hartford on November 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Elmer and Alma (Lynch) Hanna.

Charles was a graduate of Argyle Central School class of 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country for ten years. He was a true Marine through and through.

On December 13, 1998, he married Allene Nadeau.

Charles worked for 32 years at Carmody Ford in Greenwich as a mechanic. He was a member of the Turning Point Wesleyan Church. Charles enjoyed his yard work, reading, working on everyone’s car and could talk to just about anyone about them. He loved his dog Meeka, visiting with family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Charles is predeceased by his siblings, Robert Hanna, Helen Thorn, Edwin Hanna, Wayne Hanna, and Joseph Hanna.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Allene Hanna, son, Charles Hanna (Debra) and their children, Nicholas and Marissa, stepchildren, John Lutz, Mark Lutz (Kelly Hungerford), Christine Dessaint (Daniel “Buddy”), and Tonya Lutz (Keith Boisclair), step-grandchildren, Jessica Fuller, Seth Lutz, Nathan Dessaint, Ryan Dessaint, and Brianna Dessaint, siblings, Anna Dow, William Hanna (Martha), Elmer Hanna, Alma Kopeck, Esther Hargrave, Walter Hanna (Linda), Phyllis Olsen (Fred), Carol Burns (James), Muriel Burke, Merrill Hanna, Marilyn Sauro (Michael), Sharon Armstrong (Donald), Sherry Knowlton (James), and Penny Gagliardi (Frank), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 5-7pm on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Thursday May 17, 2018 at the Turning Point Wesleyan Church, 1061 US-4, Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. James Swanson, pastor.

Burial will follow the service at 1pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville, NY.
