Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Brunell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: My thoughts are with Boog's family and close friends at this sad, life-changing time. We were neighbors and friends for our K-12 years in school. I remember lots of good times, including our friendly rivalry of the Mets and Reds. Later, our two daughters became good friends. As time goes by, may memories eventually help to fill the hole in your heart.

Condolence: Very sorry to hear this. My condolences to Josie, Norma and all the Brunells. I talked to Boog briefly in 2013 before the class of '73 reunion. What a great guy. Even after almost 40 years we could still remember and laugh about the old times. He will be missed.

Condolence: Joe and Boog have been great friends for years. He talked Boog into coming to see us when we were stationed in Hawaii in the Navy, along with my brother Mickey for Christmas in 2003. We all had the best time. We have loved him ever since and always enjoyed seeing him when we came home for a visit from wherever we were living at the time. He attended our brother David's wake just about a week ago. This was unexpected and sudden for our family to lose a brother after losing our Mom less than a year ago. Tom was at Mom's house playing cards with the boys on Friday night. I got a big hug from him when he left. On our drive back to Illinois on Saturday we heard the news and were so sad to lose a dear friend. We send our deepest condolences to the Brunell family. We share in your loss as we loved him too. He was always beaming when he spoke about his son Todd and grandson Ian. Aloha, dear friend. Rest easy and enjoy the view. We will miss you. Love, Tina (Gitto) Warren and husband Dana and Joe Gitto

Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. I have known your family for a long time growing up around the corner from your home. During high school when I really got to "hang out" with Boog, he was so much fun, always telling jokes and always having a great time and always had a smile on his face. He was nice to everyone! Most recent, he would show me pictures of his grandchildren and was so very proud!!!! He would laugh and tell me all kinds of stories......My heart aches for your loss... way to soon. hugs....Eileen Donbeck Doyon

Condolence: I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to the Brunell family. "Boog" was such a great man and I'll never forget sitting with him and listening to his "Ian" stories. He would talk about "his buddy" for hour's and the smile would never leave his face. It was hard not to be happy when you were around "Boog" and I'll forever remember him. I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. RIP "Boog". Sincerely, Patty Morency Bills

Condolence: These last few weeks Boog and I spent a lot of time talking about his job and how he did not want to leave it though his health was telling him he should. He was a man of integrity, pride, passion, compassion and undeniable wit. He had as many jokes, one liners and comebacks, as anyone I've ever known. He taught me about dingleberries, steaming clams, overtalking, undertalking, and cole slaw on the sub of the week. His laugh made me feel good even when I didn't. Someday I hope we all understand why so many good people leave us too early. I hope his family and the rest of his friends find comfort knowing that he was with many great friends, where he loved to be, on his last day with us. I will miss you my friend.
