Suzanne M. Lavin, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born in Whitehall on October 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Louise (Catalina) Gordon.

Suzanne married the love of her life Francis E. Lavin on Oct. 3, 1959, and had five children. Frank and Sue purchased a dairy farm in 1962 and continued until 1985. After the dairy, they changed to raising beef cattle on Lavin L. Farm. Suzanne went to nursing school at BOCES and ACC, and became a LPN at the Hallmark Nursing Home. Suzanne used her nursing skills at home for all of her children and grandchildren and also took care of her loving husband while he was sick for eleven years. She enjoyed cooking and making sure everyone had enough to eat, playing the flute, flower gardening, being outdoors working, sewing, and taking family videos. She sacrificed her garage for many years for her boys with all their dirt bikes and cars that they were always working on but she wouldn't have it any other way. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne is predeceased by her husband Francis “Frank” Lavin and her son Francis “Frankie” Lavin.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Judith Hagan and her husband, Daniel, of Fulton, Christopher Lavin and his wife, Michele, of Hartford, Patrick Lavin and his wife, Barbara, of Raleigh, NC and James Lavin and his wife, Julie, of Hartford; her grandchildren, Jessica Lavin, Joshua and Katie Hagan, Danielle and Adam Osborne, Christopher and Keisha Hagan, Brianna and Spencer Horton, Mackenzie and Tim Clark, Sarina and Dale Gibson, Kalub and Tiffany Lavin, Melanie and Jeff Crass, Haylie Lavin, Jacob Lavin, Jaclyn Lavin and J.P. Lavin; 15 great grandchildren; her sister Judith Lauraine and her husband, James, of Colonie; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 6 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at 11am on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford, NY.
