The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Pullen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Sue Lemery Smyth

My family lived in the same neighborhood as the Pullen’s. My dad, Ed Lemery, used to hang out with John, either on his porch or ours, and enjoy a few beers. My brothers and sisters and I grew up with, who we fondly referred to as, “the Pullen kids.” I have a very vivid memory of Mr. Pullen (that’s who he was to us kids) I played in a local summer softball league with his daughter, Kendall. At one game, Mr. Pullen had come to watch, and when Kendy was up to bat, he shouted out, “Let’s go Lala, you can do it!” Although I am sure she loved his pet name for her at home, it apparently embarrassed her in public. She replied, “DAD??!!!” He laughed and smiled with that very infectious smile he had…and shouted it again. His smile and wit will be sorely missed. My condolences to all who will miss him.
